Hey, I hope your well and of the realization that January is actually solely coming to an end.
The longest month of the year but also a time to not push and do. A chance to relax, take time, hibernate and rest. A spacious time to just be for a while. Sounds great unless your brain is running on 300 tabs open and a driven sense of cortisol.
I had this exact issue trying to wind down over the Christmas period and then when I did hit a nice, relaxed state of being, I had to speed back up for the doing again.
Anyone else with me on this?
At this point I did step into work mode and have a chat with myself. (I do this often)
I am the only person that has chosen to get caught up in the rush and hurry and speed things up when I need to lean into slowing down. Taking moments of time out, put my phone down, turn off my brain for a bit and allow it to just be.
It is not an easy feat but if you begin to practice, it does take eventually.
I started by asking myself just like I would a client,
“What small thing do I need to do differently?”
Sounds so simple doesn’t it, but when you start to question what needs to change you begin to realise, it isn’t as bigger job as you think it is. When we recognise this, we realise it’s not hard to accomplish.
The next step, putting it into practice, for example giving yourself a date and a time that you are going to start doing that small thing you have just worked on.
This becomes a non- negotiable, something to be bothered about because it is actually for you.
Give yourself a chance to put it into practice and see how you get on 😊
See you in February with extra blue skies and longer daytime hours.
